Bunches of Blooms

Les Fleurs in Andover is known for its dreamy, French-inspired florals, but owner Sandra Sigman also loves sharing her skills with others. That’s why Sigman hosts classes and workshops throughout the year that have proved super popular and sell out quickly. 'I have a groupie following,' she says with a laugh.

Classes usually have a theme, like wreath-making or the recent French floral-themed class where attendees created arrangements in antique tureens that Sigman brought back from France. The classes are several hours long and go over skills like basic flower care, as well as how to let creativity blossom after learning the basic flower 'recipe' stemming from base greenery. Attendees often bring their own wine, but Sigman also provides light bites and a signature drink like basil-infused lemonade. At the end of the night, everyone takes home their new floral arrangement in a beautiful vessel. Sigman has also taken her workshops abroad, even hosting one at a private chateau in Provence.

“I find that floral design is very relaxing,” she says. “You just see the mood lift.”
